"Music is an outburst of the soul." ~Frederick Delius

Day 140---Tonight Miranda and I attended the orchestra concert. Quite a few of my students are in orchestra and some of Miranda's friends, too. The music was beautiful---there are so many talented musicians at my school.
This morning a very special man passed away at 12:15 am from cancer. His name was Norm West and he was a member of our church and also the community group we attend. I have not known him for very long, for about a year and a half, but he taught me so much in that short time.
These are the lessons I learned from Norm:
a) live my life DAILY for Christ
b) each day find ways to witness to others
c) praise God in every moment
d) sing---sing---sing in worship
e) not to fear death, but to look forward to walking with Jesus
He will be missed, but I feel joy for Norm because I know he is where he has wanted to be for a long time---in heaven with Jesus---singing songs and smiling ear to ear. I am also reminded of the verse Matthew 25:23 .."The master said, 'Well done, my good and faithful servant."...I'm confident Norm heard these words as he entered God's kingdom.
Today I'm thankful for.....
1. music played by talented students
2. finally finished grading projects
3. life lessons taught by example
4. having the honor of knowing Norm
