Day 119--Today I attended a ceremony for my student who won a local writing contest. He and an 8th grade student were the two winners chosen from our school. The ceremony was held at Minute Maid Park, where the Houston Astros play baseball. There was a speaker, the state and national winners read their essays, and then we were served lunch. Parth is the first student of mine to win so it was an exciting time for both of us!! :) I'm very poud of him!! :)
Today I'm thankful for....
1. my student being recognized for his writing
2. even though I got very very lost, I managed to arrive early AND find a close parking space :)
3. free food samples at the grocery store :)
4. manicure/pedicure
5. good night phone calls from Miranda
