“Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.”

After school today I worked out, took Addie out for dinner, and then stopped at the grocery store. By the time I arrived home it was already 8:00. I still had not taken my picture of the day so I grabbed my camera and started walking around the house to find inspiration. My first glance went to this clock that sits on a shelf in the kitchen. It has needed a new battery for awhile and has been stopped at 5:54 for quite some time. I immediately thought about how I wish sometimes that time could really stop...that it could stand still....even just for a little while. I feel like I have so much to do every day yet never have enough time to get everything done. I always feel behind and that I'm not doing everything to the best of my ability. As I was looking for a quote I came across this one....not sure if it makes me feel better or if it makes me feel like I should be doing more with my time!! :) Anyway, I guess I better end this so I can go grade papers...do laundry....ect before time runs out for the day!
ohhhh, i feel the same way!! but i guess it wouldn't really matter how much time we had, we'd just add more and still feel 'stretched' anyway!! great way to capture that feeling.

We all do the best we can with the time we have....one day at a time....& tomorrow will bring us new challanges.....:)

I saw this quote just the other day around here, and it says to me that we're all feeling in the same boat, so to speak! I arrives back home less than 24 hours ago and the suitcases are lined up, ready to be unpacked, but look where I am! *sigh*...choices every day! And I'd rather be with the community than sorting and hanging clothes! Thanks for sharing and commisserating!

A quote like that while clever just makes the Average Joe feel guilty for not using time well. Sometimes the best thing to do for yourself is Nothing.

@allie912--I agree!! :)

Ha, great quote! I used this quote myself recently when I was feeling particularly overwhelmed by my lack of time. I too used a clock. Nice shot, I like the vignette and the framing on this!

It seems like you never have enough time to get everything done, but one thing I learned, tomorrow is another day.

great job finding inspiration! From where I sit it looks as if you are doing a great job getting it all done.

Very cool shot and wonderful quote!!!

know that feeling so you've done well with this and linking it so succinctly.

I think that the lack of time is the most frequent complaint that teachers make --- you're right, there's just never enough of it! (And, I'll bet all those famous people felt the same way!) Who said this?

@ZG--I looked it up and the quote is by H. Jackson Brown (???)

Tell Bean I hope she enjoys seeing this gorgeous Chicago namesake! She'd love to have a visit there someday as the pictures look different from every angle, and *everyone* loves to photograph their reflections in the Bean! (You were sweet to ask, Della, but you really hadn't needed to; I'm delighted to send it on its way!)

Della your picture ,and story , made me think of this poem ......... what is this life if full or care,we have no time to stand and stare ? - Davies

Good, thought-provoking image that really make me stop and think. I do often feel that others have more time when I see what they've accomplished....but then again, as Louise has mentioned...it's all about choices. I seem to always make the bad ones, though. :-)

Now that sounds like a great teachers comment. You have the time to do your homework. Love this picture.

You should take a pic of your class so we can see who you work with.

@miata2u--I thought about that today--taking a picture of my classes (i have 3)---may have to do that tomorrow--at least take a picture of one class at a time

Wonderful picture and thoughts. Sometimes I feel like I can do anything and I get so much accomplished. Other days...I just fizzle out.
September 24th, 2010
I like the picture. I too feel sometimes like there is not enough hours in the day. There are times we need to just get off the spinning clock of life and take a breather before we jump back on.
