"Everyone will experience the consequences of his own acts. If his acts are right, he'll get good consequences; if they're not, he'll suffer for it."

Two weeks ago on my way home from work, I was so busy talking with Addie that I didn't realize I had entered into East Bernard, where the speed limit quickly drops to 30 mph!! Needless to say, I was pulled over for going a "little" faster than that!! I was soooo bummed because I usually remember to slow down. Anyway, after many years of not having a ticket, I was the unlucky recipient of this lovely green sheet of paper signed by one of our local constables. What really upset me was I could see my street from where he pulled me over---one block away from my house!! Oh well, I know I deserve the ticket--I WAS speeding! Today I had to leave school early to go to City Hall to find out the consequences of my actions....guess I will be paying a fine and taking an online defensive driving course.....hopefully, this will be my last ticket for a very very very long time....
Ahh yes, the law, nice reminder!

Oops! Just a few minutes more...but that's the way it goes sometimes! I guess in Texas, green doesn't necessarily mean go!

On the way to my son's home in Gainesville, Fl you go through 2 notorious speed traps. The funny thing is some one has actually erected billboards at the border of each town warning of the speed trap up ahead.

A lesson learned with just a little pain is not such a bad thing. The message: "Pay attention." And the thing about lessons is that others can learn from your lesson if they (we) also "pay attention. Thank you for sharing your lesson, Della.

Oh yeah, and they speed patrol is always there when we are the guilty ones. But let someone go flying through knowing full well the limit, the patrol is nowhere to be seen. A tough lesson but I think most of us have beenthere.

It could have been any of us! You're impressive that you're meeting your responsibility face-on and not whimpering over it. I hope the young people you deal with follow your good example!

Ugh, that is a tough fine for speeding! In Germany we are a bit lax about it, they just make money out of speeding tickets! However, if you are someone who does this often, then you accumulate points and once you receive a certain amount they given you a psychological test and you have to take your driving test again (or something the like anyway) and they can take away your license for a certain amount of time.
