From a Greek original of unknown date and authorship, a Roman copie of one of the statues of the group of Niobe's daughters and sons, slaughtered by Artemis and Apollo by order of Latona, to punish the pride of Niobe. According to some myths one of them managed to stay alive...
I'm at work at the moment, and just lost my @#$% laughing. Love it.
I can't listen to the soundtrack... but I hope it's Saturday Night Fever..
John Travolta would be very envious..
@alophoto And you know that dance floor is for sale? If I only could... @summerfield Thank you a lot, Vikki, I am sure I saw him dancing at the Uffizi... @deborah63 haha, mission accomplished, then: it's "Stayin' Alive", from the movie, of course! I was only 12 when it was released in Italy, and I couldn't watch it because it was rated PG-14, I was so envious of my older friends and relatives and waited desperately a second-vision distribution...
It will be a sad day when this series comes to an end. Id love to hear the internal dialogue that went on in your head as you went around the Uffizi. This guy was ahead of his time - glad you thought to join in.
Ha! I go to Japan for a week and tune out of 365, and when I come back, Domenico is as crazy as ever, having fun with art and photography art! I'm echoing what @helenhall said!
@annied That was the purpose, I admit! @overalvandaan 😂 I started laughing out (not so loud, please!) in the museum when I saw this guy... @helenhall Well, I started photographing the paintings, like all of us tourists were doing. Then, suddenly, a sparkle ignited... And when I saw this, "...fevernight/fevernight/feveeeer" turned immediately on!
Brilliant again... but I'm intrigued by the process. Do you photograph yourself on a black background, white, green-screen... and how do you judge that you’ve got the right image to blend in seamlessly?
Thank you Richard. A little long: I photographed the statue in Room 42 at the Galleria degli Uffizi, and myself against a white background. Cut both figures and created two different layers. Added the dance floor (from a party I went a while ago) in the lower half and stretched one side of a copy of it for the the background lighting in the upper half, then dodged the areas of the two figures exposed to the light from the floor and burned the upper areas, farther from the light. I used a soft brush with a 8% density to add to the figures hues emitted by the lights on the floor. Finally added the Classical soft focus effect in Nik Color Efex... I could have done more but... optimum is enemy to good enough!
@joysabin i have plans you people wouldn’t believe... (quasi-quote) LOL. Thank you so much! @tracys thank you, Tracy, glad I did! @kwind thank you, Kim! Hope to bring you a smile...
