Shipwreck

Some years ago extraordinary rains raised the level of the Tiberim so high that some barges moored along the banks sunk. Rather dramatic on black!
Dramatic indeed - presumably the mooring ropes were too tight to allow the barges to rise with the water level?

Whoa -- the increased drama on black feels ominous, accentuated by your processing.

Oh wow, I love this dark, dramatic shot. The imagination can run wild.

Great B&W!

@vignouse thank you! Yes, Water level raised several meters, almost reaching the top of the arches. Here’s a series oh photo published online of that flood (2012): #15 is of the same bridge, and it was not the highest day!
@jyokota thank you, Junko! Every time I shoot film photos, I realize that my processing of digital is aimed to reach that same feel...
@golftragic thank you Marnie! That time reality overcame imagination!
@kwind thank you, Kim! Can’t beat a good film!

@domenicododaro Well put Domenico.

@domenicododaro -- but is it easier to control in digital? Even if your aim is to get to the film feel? Or easier on film because once you've taken it you have finished what you will do to it? Or do you process it yourself?

Love the Noir feel of this. Film really gives this a wonderful quality. I have to shot more film.

@jyokota Good questions: control in digital is definitely easier. With no chemicals and in plain light... I do process the film by myself, actually restarted only recently. Then scan and sometimes (not in this case, actually) play around with photoshop.
@joysabin You must, it's so much a pleasure! Thank you

@domenicododaro -- so would that process be considered Dark-Light-Room?

@jyokota This is a good definition! ;)
