2015 July 3: For the past couple of years we haven't harvested any squash from our garden despite our best efforts ...due to an infestation of squash borers, in previous years our plants died before producing any fruit.
This year, however, our squash plants have been prolific!
So far I have frozen 6 gallons of squash in addition to all that we have eaten and given away. From the amount of beautiful bright blossoms clustered on our plants, I expect a good many more before this season ends!
How wonderful to be growing your own squash. We grew courgettes (zucchini) and pumpkins when we lived in the south of England but our garden here in Mid Wales isn't suitable for growing vegetables. We stick to flowers!
Wishing you good luck, we had to move our garden this year. We've gotten two zucchini's so far. At least the leaves are huge and pretty. And it keeps the weeds down.
