Mallard Splashdown

Day 305 of 365: Mallard Splashdown

2015 November 2: This afternoon we walked a couple of miles around Adtran's trail, observing birds and admiring the beautiful landscape. I was pleased to see that the winter waterbirds have begun their return, as I noticed several Gadwall and a couple of Pied-billed Grebes. Of course, the ever-present Mallards were also there.

When I approached a group of Mallards resting on a log, they all quickly flew into the water and swam away. This one certainly displaced a good bit of water when he landed in the pond!
This is actually better than a BIF! Bird in flight! The point of landing! fav
