2015 November 19: I admit it: I am a cyber-hoarder as far as my photos are concerned; I have not been discriminating at all as to the photos that I have kept on my computer. However, I recently realized that I have 145,000+ digital photos dating as far back as 2005; they take up over 1 Terabyte of space! Realizing that I will have to ruthlessly clear some, I have been going through my photos file-by-file and photo-by-photo ...deleting the obviously "bad" ones and getting the others organized to store on an external hard drive.
With this project going on, I did not have much time to take new photos today; I was not satisfied with any of the few that I did manage to take. So I thought that I would post one from my treasured archives:
This photo was taken at Orange Beach on a very foggy winter day in 2011. My husband and I were living in Pensacola, and it was my first time away from "home." Our sons had come to visit us on their winter break from college ...so I had insisted that we go for a picnic on the beach that day.
When we arrived, we found the beach to be much colder than inland ...with a stiff wind blowing in from the ocean and a very heavy fog hanging thickly in the air. This is a wonderful memory for me, though, because even though the weather was far from perfect, I felt encased in the luxurious warmth of having my family together. In this photo, we could not even see where the beach ended and the ocean began -- but my sons were walking the beach anyway and just enjoying their time there.
