2016.09.06 Tuesday: When a family of Ruby-throated Hummingbirds moved into our yard this summer, they were rather timid and wouldn't come anywhere near us. Lately, though, they have become much more bold!
Whenever I sit outdoors on our deck now, they seem to enjoy hovering right in front of my face ...and recently they repeatedly flew underneath my son's lawn chair and kept making circles around him as he attempted to enjoy a quiet day outdoors!
In this photo, one of the hummingbirds is racing a red wasp to the feeder. I hope that the bird wins!
It seems ours have headed south as I've not seen them for a few days. I hope next summer I can set up my tripod one day and get some shots of them at my feeder. Right now I just admire them through the kitchen window! Great shot!
