Rising Snow Moon

2017.02.10 Friday: Tonight's sunset was gorgeous and lingering ...Its wonderful colors began as pastel purple and pink near the horizon before steadily deepening into brilliant blue and red. This awesome display of colors lasted for a full 30 minutes.

While out taking photos of this gorgeous sight, I turned to face the east and was thrilled to see tonight's Snow Moon (i.e., February's full moon) slowly rising above the horizon ...It was a majestic sight rising in the midst of the sunset colors!

Although I was only able to photograph the moon rising through the trees, I was still quite pleased to be able to capture this awesome sight!
