Japanese Iris

2017.03.13 Monday: Our weather today was quite cold (only a few degrees above freezing!) with a chilly rain falling throughout the day. It was a special treat to see that the first of our beautiful Japanese iris blooms had fully opened.

Fav. Beautiful Iris. Years ago I planted a few bulbs of irises like this and within 3/4 years I had a large box full of them and gave them all away. I miss them today.

Oh, how pretty, Dinah! I love irises. Yes, seeing this beauty on the day you described surely had to be a treat. We went to bed last night expecting 3-6 inches of snow and woke up to nothing. They've changed the forecast to just flurries now. I'm ready for our irises to bloom...enough of Winter! :)
