2018.06.02 Saturday: When my sons were young, each year for my birthday they gave me the gift of an annual family membership to our local botanical gardens -- with the promise that they would cheerfully walk the gardens with me! When we moved to Florida, however, the tradition ended; we didn't bother to start it back even after we moved back to Alabama.
This year, however, my middle son (Michael) surprised me by buying an annual membership for each member of our family ...It was a wonderful and thoughtful gift! We have experienced storms every day since, though -- so today was our first opportunity to visit the gardens together.
We had a wonderful time exploring, and especially enjoyed visiting the butterfly house.
