This is a farm field of Oil Seed Rape. We see it growing in lots of fields round here and the yellow's so bright it hurts your eyes. It's grown not for the flowers but for the seeds which are mostly used in making cattle fodder but also yield a cooking oil which is even more healthy than olive oil. It's fantastic for roasting potatoes. This afternoon Lester and I went for a cuppa and a slice of cake to the farm shop where we buy the oil.

This is called Canoloa oil in the states and Rapseed oil here in Germany. I'm still waiting on the fields around here to look this vibrant. This is beautiful!
