Lester and I went to Ham House in Richmond-upon-Thames today. It's got a great frontage but when we got there down came the rain, so no shot of the house this time. :'-(
Unusually for a National Trust property, (non-flash) photography is allowed inside the house. The day was saved. :-)
It's a very interesting old house, all dark wood panelling, elaborate carving and aristocratic bling. It dates from the 17th century - http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/ham-house/history/
It's supposed to be haunted but we didn't see any ghosts - probably because neither of us believes in them. ;-)
I took this at a turn in the main staircase. There's info. on the painting you can see - The Battle of Lepanto - here : - http://www.nationaltrustcollections.org.uk/object/1139664.1

Thank goodness you got some indoor photos on your day.This detail of the stairway is so nice to see, close up even more. Nice composition to include the painting. Thank you for the links, so interesting.
That's a great picture. Nice shot - especially as its non-flash. Cool work.
Cool place. I have been there twice now and the house was closed. Once because out of season and once because they were doing a film inside. Drat.
Did you go to the dairy? >> http://365project.org/netkonnexion/anotherone/2011-08-24
@netkonnexion Thank you :-)
No, missed the dairy! Also drat.
The busts in the walls there are weird and cool. When we were there, I kept saying to Lester that I was sure we'd been there before because I remembered seeing them. He swore we hadn't been before. I came to the conclusion that I'd been with a friend but that didn't seem right either. I just flipped forward from your link and found this : http://365project.org/netkonnexion/anotherone/2011-08-29
Mystery solved! ROFL. :-DDDDD
