Softly

I went to Waterperry Gardens again today and spent a happy couple of hours wandering round and taking photos, concentrating on the statuary and sculptures. This young lady is in the formal garden. I love her, she has such a beautifully serene face, and go to say hello to her every time I visit.
There's another detail of her, with some information, here : http://365project.org/dulciknit/other-photos/2011-10-27
She is probably made from bronze - she is covered in verdigris, but it does seem a rather uniform coverage - more than you'd expect.

I shot this in RAW, without exposure compensation. This effect was achieved through processing the shot [edit - just with the sliders, no layering or anything comple-cated]. The idea was to try and see how much information I could remove and maintain an understandable image. It is possible to lighten it further and still see what the subject is but this is where I liked it best.
v ery nice. I really really like it!!!

I like the effect you're trying to achieve. For me, a little too much has been removed but that may be because of my failing eyesight more than anything else! Would love to see more of her. I clicked on the link above and that left me wanting more.

@cheribug Aww, thank you, cheryl. :-)

@girlie Thank you, Robin. :-) I must admit I was a bit concerned about the amount I lightened it because people's moniters vary.
I don't have a full length shot of her but I found one here : http://www.gardenvisit.com/garden/waterperry_gardens
If you click on the picture it will go to a larger version of it.

Love the unique effect! Tilting the monitor back gave me a clearer view, and wanting more I checked out the Waterperry gardens site & also the last photo you took in October....another terrific shot!. Lovely sculpture and the gardens are so enchanting. Love places like that.
