I went to Whipsnade zoo again today. When Gareth and I went a while ago I enjoyed watching the flamingoes but time was limited and so I promised myself a return visit so that I could spend some more time observing them.
These two look like they were being lovey-dovey but they weren't (well they're not doves, so I suppose they wouldn't). They were shaping up to a squabble.
What a load of raucous, quarrelsome creatures!
They all gathered round their food bins at one stage and when they weren't pecking the food they were pecking at each other. There didn't seem to be any point to it at all; no ground was gained or lost. After sniping, sorry - flamingoing at each other a few times, they'd suddenly stop and resume feeding quite peacefully together from the same bin. Strange and comical and very entertaining.
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.
I'm an abstract photography enthusiast but not exclusively so.

What a super interesting description of the scene - I'd seen flamingoes, but that was before my big interest in photography so just noticed in passing. They're kind of like these finches in our backyard in their behavior. From your wonderful shot, you'd never guess the background. Thanks for the lesson!

I'm never too sure how to go about this because people have different preferrences about the way they are thanked if they stop by to view/comment/fav someone's shot, so please excuse me if this way's not 'you'.
Thank you very much for coming to look at the flamingoes. I really appreciate the time you took to look and comment, and your kindness. It was so nice that you felt you wanted to do it and I'm really grateful to you.

Please excuse the mass reply, good folks.
Many, many thanks to each and every one of you for your kindness. I'm bowled over by the response to this pic.
