Depth of Fork

Trying out different aperture settings today. This was the result I liked best.

Observation - it is much easier to clone out unsightly faults in pottery bowls from your shot if you clean the icky bits off the computer screen first.

Very wise words about the clean computer screen. Love the white on white as well.

I know exaclty what you mean, Alison. There's a nasty mark right in the middle of your bowl right now . . . I MUST clean my screen!

Lovely composition and exposure. KNow just what you mean about the computer screen, you think your cloning technique has gone wrong!

High key will show up any flaws but this is a lovely clean photo! The simplicity and proportions of the composition also contribute to the clean, uncluttered look.

@gark Wow! Thank you, Gark. Our house gets a lot of natural light at back during the day. This was taken indoors on a bright, overcast day and I deliberately over-exposed by x2 thirds intervals. Then when I processed the RAW file I highlighted a bit, upped the whites a lot, de-saturated to make sure the slight colour cast went, and sharpened.

I've just clicked my way through loads of your photos and I think you are one amazing photographer. You've shown us with your pictures that beauty lies even in the most simple and mundane. I shall come back to your pictures again and again for inspiration.
