Aren't they fantastic? They are sisters who were at the Janmashtami festival I went to back in August. They're dressed as Lord Krishna (it seems that the blue make up is traditional) and his devotee, Radharani.
I've had to do some work on this (not very happy with it) because there was distracting stuff in the background and I was sorry not to be able to get the ladies looking my way but it wasn't to be. I love their elaborate costumes and make up, though, and decided to post this anyway.
Critique welcome. Veteran 365er, 2011 vintage. Only posting occasionally and irregularly now.
I'm an abstract photography enthusiast but not exclusively so.

Instant Fav! I love the colorful costumes and it looks like it was a marvelous festival to have attended. Great focus and wonderful detail. Just spectacular!
@jackie8 Thank you, Jackie. You can't see it here but the palms of her hands were painted bright red, and goodness knows how the motif on her arm was done, it's very elaborate.
A wonderful capture of them, I don't think it matters that they are not looking at you. Sometimes that makes for a more natural feel to the shot. Lovely colours and costumes, a great shot.
fantastic portrait. i had to magnify just to appreciate all the detail in their attire. absolutely stunning and what a shot...so clear. perfect. your work paid off in the background because nothing should distract from their display of costume and smiles!
