A focus stacked macro. It took a lot of shots to make the stack owing to the way the leaf twists and turns and I still had to 'patch' a few small areas I'd not managed to get in focus but I'm fairly pleased with the result nonetheless. I do love the shape of the leaf and felt that a macro was the best way to show it off but I don't think I'll do *quite* such a complex stack again!

@phil_howcroft Thank you, Phil. The processing itself is straightforward in PS, it's just a matter of loading the files and selecting the appropriate actions (t'internet tells you which ones you need). It's the preparation that's tricky with macro work - making sure you get everything in focus across the exposures and also allowing for the inevitable loss that occurs when the exposures are aligned - because the subject 'moves' slightly from exposure to exposure as you focus on different parts of it (hope that makes sense!). The bit of cloning I had to do to patch the still-out-of-focus bits was quite straightforward and didn't take long.
