It's been a quiet Sunday chez Bailey. Lester and I thought we really ought to go out for a little while and get some fresh air - and maybe a cuppa and cake :-)
I suggested we went to Hughenden Manor, once home of the Victorian PM Benjamin Disraeli but now a National Trust property. Little did we know - until we got there ! - that Hughenden has been holding a 1940s weekend to commemorate the 70th anniversary of its being taken over by the Air Ministry for wartime purposes. There were lots of people wandering round in period military outfits. This man dressed as an Air Raid Precautions (ARP) Warder was one. He had a lovely face and when he smiled it really lit up.
It was very busy, so we didn't get our tea and cake - until we bought a little something nice at the local grocery store. :-)
