We seem to have a resident copper. I sat for a while in our meadow while it fluttered from flower to flower and letting me get some beautiful shots.
Copper butterflies are endemic to New Zealand, but there's a lot we don't know about them. Moths & Butterflies of NZ Trust are currently fundraising to research these species.
