I follow a company on Facebook called Tumbleweed Tiny House Company and today they had an open house in Olympia at Dee's house. Dee actually lives in this tiny little house that has a trailer for a foundation. The house sits in the backyard of a regular house. Because they are on wheels and so small, you don't need a permit to build one. If you decide to move it, you just hook up to your vehicle and drive it away. The sleeping area is in the upper loft. Downstairs is living area and kitchen.
