At a birthday party yesterday. The room was quite dark so I got to play with camera settings. I am not very experienced at low light indoors. I love the soft feel of this shot.
"Never mind that, can I have some ice cream please?!"
(Sorry, Edie! I just got a bit carried away with how you captured these three little girls and how they're all obviously experiencing different emotions. For what it's worth, I really like what you've done with the light - it's given quite a private, intimate mood to the shot.)
So this is a really interesting coincidence. I've been trying to figure out how to frame a challenge for you, and this shot is on the way to being a good example of what I was thinking about. Although not fully.
As I said somewhere else in your album, you've done some amazing things in 16 months. And in my opinion, you've developed a style that's recognizable. I'm not savvy enough to know exactly where it comes from, but it has a vintage sepia vibe. So my challenge for you is to think about taking some shots that DON'T have that "Edie vibe" - - to perhaps use your acting training to shoot truthfully under the imaginary circumstances of being someone else. (And you thought YOU were unclear in your explanation...)
If this only makes sense in my weird head and you want something more concrete, I'm happy to oblige. Just let me know.

@steampowered Thank you. I can't put my finger on why but I really like it too.
