For my get pushed challenge...a shot that depicts the phrase "in my dreams"
I decided to have a bit of fun with editing. Maybe a bit cliché but it was a great learning experience.
@michellelittle Thank you! I have to tell you it was a lot of trial and error...about a month until I get photoshop so this was a combination of ipiccy and picmonkey. The original photo she is completely surrounded by sky. She jumped and I was quite low shooting up so I made it easier on myself that way but I still needed to cut around her figure with the overlays and that was hard. (and not perfect) I think it is easier with photoshop. So I added the stars and erased them from her figure and darkened the sky as it was a very sunny day and the original photo is almost white. Does that help at all?
Fantastic shot a well deservd fav,if you dont mind me asking,do you have photo software photoshop etc if so which one would you wrecomend,we have apple mac which has iphoto,so it must work with it,hope you dont mind:)
@stevepam Thank you! And thank you for the fav. I don't mind at all. I posted a bit above. I don't have photoshop (yet) My sister does computer animation and will be visiting from the UK this summer so she is bringing me PS and a lesson in it. I'm excited and intimidated. Right now I use the free sites. For this one I used picmonkey and ipiccy.
I started with a photo of her surrounded by sky though which made the processing a little easier. She jumped off a rock and I was lying on the ground shooting up so she was surrounded by air...but it was midday on a hot sunny day so it was pretty much white around her. I used an overlay and erased what was on the figure and I used cloning to try and smooth it out a bit. I think the high key helps and I'm not 100 percent happy with the smoothness of the transition but it took a long time to get there. I am hoping ps has something that 'recognizes' the outlined shape. I found something on picmonkey that would darken her and not the sky but I couldn't find the reverse effect. Those sites are free. You should check them out.
@edie Thank you for sharing that with us,we are still learning,it will be great when we are able to do effects like you and other talented people on365,thank you again:)
:D
