B is for bricks, bones and (circuit) board ...

Another lunchtime walk along the banks of the Thames by the Millenium Bridge - I like it when the tide is low.

The first thing you might notice when walking the shore is all the bones and shells. Lots of sheep bones from mutton, ox bones sawn in half for their marrow and oyster shells from when they were London's fast food and fit only for the poor to eat.

The bricks are from buildings long gone, either through redevelopment or bomb damage.
Well spotted. So many B pictures are multiples of B. I like it.

Do you manage to get right down onto the bank or have you got a great lens?! I love rumaging around on tidal banks for bottles and tiles....

When the tide is out there's about 30 feet of bank to play with! Very steep stairs are dotted along the Embankment allowing you to get riverside.

Also very slippery ... Did see one Japanese businessman goes A over T yesterday, which his collegues found hilarious!

The bricks fascinate me, but the old pilings even more so. You can see just how high the city has risen by looking at the old bits of wood sticking out of the mud.

And the business man - I bit my lip as I made my way back up the stairs. Must have hurt him though, and his suit was trashed.

This is really interesting. I went with my daughter to a place where people illegally dump trash. I didn't think that there would be anything to photograph, but I have changed my mind, there are some interesting things and shots you can get. Good photo.
