Snow has been threatened, so imagine my surprise when leaving work at lunchtime to see London covered and totally unprepared for the eventuality ...
Went to see Ipswich play Sven Goran Eriksson's Leicester City in the evening. The game was in doubt at lunchtime due to the incoming weather, but as it was being televised on SKY strangely the game went ahead ... Come kick off the pitch was covered in snow and after 10 minutes the ball had to be switched to an orange one. Half-time we were 3-0 up and the Leicester fans were singing for the game to be abandoned whereas the Ipswich fans were singing that we'd clear the pitch at half-time ... Sure enough, the moment half-time blew 100 stewards and ground-staff were straight onto the pitch armed with shovels and brooms to clear the snow away.
Minor scare in the 2nd half when the ref took the players off for 15 minutes so he could reassess the situation, but fortunately he saw sense and allowed to the game to continue and seeing us clear to a much needed 3-0 win.
Looking forward to a walk in the snow tomorrow and then the building of a snowman in the afternoon!
