L got a red ribbon today for his achievements in gym class over the last few months. I sent my husband a video of him receiving the award, and he asked if L was excited. I responded that I thought he was a little underwhelmed. My instincts were later proven correct when L spilled water and grabbed the ribbon to wipe it up while exclaiming "this this is great for cleaning up my water!"
Young children have a wonderful attitude. They get satisfaction from participating and enjoy the experience. They don't need awards/medals/ribbons to know they're fantastic! Good for you L.
