African Violet in Black & White

Nothing exciting to shoot today ~ Wasn't sure if I should crop it in or not - I liked that the camera picked up the water filled texture of the petals but I decided this was something I could live with.

This looks lovely in b&w! I get a bit anxious when I'm one day behind posting - which I am right now. But it's a good feeling because it keeps me shooting. When I hit the one year mark last December I didn't want to stop posting.

Wonderful flower, very nicely captured.
The petals with their small border remind me of those wooden curls which you get, when you sharpen a pencil. Don't know how you call it in English (mmh...maybe pencil shavings?)

I have several different violets and when I really look at the flowers, they’re always amazing to me. So small with so much going on. Hope you’re having a fabulous afternoon!
