One of the famous features of Table Mountain is the "Table cloth" - the name given to the clouds which pour over it during the summer months when the south-easter wind is blowing.
Scraps of cloth were covering the mountain this afternoon when I went up in the cable car - and this was the last of the view that we saw as we arrived at the top!
Hidden behind the cloud is Table Bay, with Robben Island in the distance.

Wow that's incredible...I've only seen the cloth from below. Cool shot of it, but you must have been somewhat peeved? Isn't it quite expensive to go up there in the cable car these days?
@hinhoutbay The usual price of the trip for an adult is R180 return, but I was a guest of the Table Mountain Company's CEO so the cost was irrelevant. Had I been paying I'd not have gone up with the weather as it was today! Temperature up there: 8 degrees!
We were driving past late afternoon and saw the cloth with the sun on the City Bowl. Wow 8 degrees is no joke :-) Guess we'll have to walk up again next time, definitely not forking out R360 plus!
looks spectacular! Been up there once, but I think it was the first time we came out. So ????? years ago! Thinking ahead that's about £17/18 at the moment.
I didn't realize the cable car would run when it was cloudy/windy--was it shaky?
