I heard a sound like an aeroplane... haven't seen one of those for seven days.... burrowed quickly to the surface.... plane had gone.... but.... what on earth is that?
You can see a picture of the washing on this line on

some airlines are flying again so i heard. i hope this is all over by the end of May as i m flying to Germany.
so i think it is a stand for hanging up clothes. am I right??? could't not be the blades of a fan as there are too many lines on each side of the blade.
After 911 there was a restriction on air travel and it was so weird not to hear planes. It's funny what we accept as "normal" and how we notice the absence ...
Great worm's eye view shot - I, too, am guessing a clothes line!
Yes, it is a clothes line! Too easy for you all. No significant ash falling...maybe a bit extra fine dust on cars can be seen...but not that you'd remark about.
I would never have guessed what it was. I was thinking some sort of antenna. We used to have a clothesline but it was the one rope from the house to a pole by the back fence. I finally convinced my wife, many years ago, to use the dryer instead. i just couldn't stand the way the clothes felt being dried outside instead of the dryer.
I was going to call this "An Old-Fashioned Clothes Dryer"... I go rounds with my Canadian neighbors who hang out their wash, but I love my dryer. Those who love things dried in the sun really swear by it, but I'm for "quick & easy" and that's what they make the Downey for... So I'm with Ray on this one...
Did I forget to comment on your picture? Nicely done with a cute story ;-)
I might have guessed an antenna too but then that would mean you probably would have had to climb up on the roof...kind of doubt you'd go to that extreme but you never know...we are getting a bit crazy doing all sorts of silly things to get the shot!!! Also, wanted to tell you I laughed out loud when you asked Allison if she needed a funeral service for her worm! Hahahaha....love your sense of humor, Elizabeth. I want to attend your church!
I'm with Karen here...you are hysterical, Elizabeth, and imagine your church services to be quite pleasant experiences. Love this shot of the clothes dryer. :-)
That came out really good! I actually didn't know what it was at first (I guess it's a guy/laundry thing). I honestly thought it was a T.V. aerial until I read through the comments..LOL Good Pic!!
I have to jump in again (surprise surprise!) and say Ken and I aare happy we provided some laughs over lunch! I'm with the group who'd love to attend your church; Ken and I have said several times how you must be a delightful person to know :-)
Well! I recognised this photo.
Good shot
No offence meant to anyone, but I love sun-dried clothes, they have a wonderful clean, crisp smell.
We have an abundance of sunshine here in Aussie & it would be awful to waste it :D
I maybe use my dryer 4 times a year :D
What a great shot of a clothes line! Like my Mum, I hardly use my dryer; as I love the feel of sun-dried clothes. They just feel lovely when they're freshly folded and put away.
