and no doubt he'll turn up on the blog later in the day!
Elizabeth this is a charming watch. I really love the background in this photo.

Lovely!!

This looks so natural, which sounds silly, because obviously a turtle watch doesn't sit on a branch normally. So I guess that makes it a really good photo. :-)

My goodness, you are so darn clever. LOVE your photo and the timely turtle!

Hi Elizabeth. If using small cutters roll bread flat and butter bread before cutting. I found it a bit fiddly buttering after cutting with the smaller cutters.

Oh yes always real butter. Sometimes I make my own butter with fresh cream. I use a Thermomix but you can make it in a food processor.

love the detail and DOF in this shot, Elizabeth! Very clever little clock ... would love to know the story behind it!

Nice placement and focus. It made me smile when I read the title because when I was in high school a "few" years ago there was an algebra teacher Mr. Korsaki who everyone called Whacky Korsaki. On occasion he would take his pocket watch out and loudly proclaim "WATCH OUT".

This would be a fun watch or compass to have. Can just imagine the pleasure of popping open the top of his shell and checking the time, or direction.

Gorgeous!

Thanks for your tip about the daylight bulb. I have one of those in the bathroom (and maybe a spare one in the closet); I'll have to try it next time I can't wait.

I love this picture! Wow! I

How absolutely beautiful! I love your photo. But I admire the person who came up with the idea of a turtle watch. In those days, time was passing slowly and one step at a time. Today it feels like a rabbit would be the appropriate animal. It is just our perspective, I know. But boy, do I sometimes wish back the olden days!

I came to your picture to leave a comment...saw you had a Shutterfly blog, so wandered over there...couldn't leave a comment (yet?)...ended back on my Home page...writing notes...swapping jokes..."introducking Aaron to Chris & visa versa" (someone actually didn't know Chris!)...approaching 3PM and I haven't gone to my photo comments to return the favors...and egad!...I'm back to your name and *where* has the afternoon gone?!

Anyone else get sidetracked like that around here?! Just me??...

Gonna miss the worm saga... Like all the themes, I really get caught up in them and everything everyone posts!

To say how sorry I was to read your message hardly begins to cover how sad that makes me feel. (to our friends: Elizabeth left a message for you on my site)

I can understand how you feel drained and stunned, for it's a story that leaves even your reader feeling the same, though we don't know this man or his family. I know you and your community there feel a terrible loss, and I can only say my heart goes out to you all, and you're in my prayers.

very creative, nice composition - nice caption!

I read your comment on Louise's page and had to come here to tell you how sorry I am for the loss of your friend. What a shocking thing for his friends and family to adsorb. I know when my mom died that the comments from well meaning people often weren't comforting at all. If I were near you I'd just come sit with you and listen to stories about your friend and cry with you.

sorry for your loss, elizabeth. i'm sending hugs and prayers your way.

Elizabeth...I just want to offer my condolences to you on the loss of your dear friend. God Bless.
