Lay-Zee and Lay-About by elizabeth

Lay-Zee and Lay-About

An early Saturday morning walk in the church grounds with Lay-Zee, Lay-About and Eliot! For some reason the Lays decided to keep climbing up trees and bushes although eventually rested while watching the dog hunt for treats.
Lay-Zee is the darker one - he's goes out more and has used beeswax on his "skin" while Lay-About has been lying around the study doing nothing but gathering dust.
Oh what a wonderful collage. I think you had a lot of fun .... hehehe and sometimes you need a new perspective to get new ideas of how to go on.

Wonderful story/collage. I can just imagine you wandering around the garden with these figures talking to them lol - wonder what the neighbours thought?

"Great minds" Cindy... I wondered that as well. http://therevandadog.blogspot.com/ And Kate... at one point during the photo-shoot I was thinking of Adam and Eve too!

I know I have been remiss in closely following many of my friends on this site which must be why I don't recall when Lay-About came onto the scene. Is he (or she) a relative, or a friend of Lay-Zee? Visiting from the big city? Vacation? On the run from the law? On sabbatical from the university? Kicked out of the house by family? Searching for truth? A wanderer? Time traveler?

I do like Kate's observation about Adam and Eve. Seems perfect for this collage.

Are they naturists? I wonder if they should have some clothes, they could do fashion shoots then!! They do look very happy and pose so well!!
June 12th, 2010
How remiss of me! I hadn't realised that you'd not met Lay-About. He made a few appearances on my blog in March and April (24, 30 and 31 march and 14 April) so I'd not thought that the 365 world was ignorant of his presence.
Lay-About is Lay-Zee's brother - about two years younger and of a much paler, more delicate appearance.
Lay-About spends a lot of time alone in the study. I suspect that he may well be a "Searcher after Truth". Lay-Zee, despite his name, does become rather more involved with human life.
They've not discussed their attitude to clothing with me - it may well be that they are naturists. They certainly don't appear to be at all embarrassed by their present condition. However, if anyone wishes to provide suitable garments then I'm sure they would be happy to pose. My skills with needle and thread are limited and with knitting needles even more limited. I did once complete ONE sock in primary school (although my mother turned the heel and finished the toe)!
I think they are rather hurt by the fact that Eliot totally ignores them and treats them as if they don't exist at all. Maybe it is safer that way if only they knew it.

Ah that explains it as I started 365 the end of April, so missed Lay-About's first appearance, will check that out!! So they're brothers, I thought they looked quite similar! Yes making clothes for them could be a real fiddle, my Grandma was brilliant at knitting and made lots of Barbi doll clothes for my two daughter's dolls, I have still got them! I think I'll dig them out and put a photo on to show you!

Thanks so much for the introduction to Lay-About! Like Ray, I was thinking that perhaps I had missed something (which is quite possible since I've had trouble "keeping up" lately)! My fav is the shot of them sitting on the tree limb ...
