Golden Syrup is Britain's oldest brand. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/5388020.stm
He moved from Lyle's Black Treacle to Golden Syrup...He does have a sweet tooth.

If you're not careful you'll be paying extra freight when Frank moves on! Have you introduced him to Golden Syrup on hot crumpets? Yum!!!

Aha, and does he brush his teeth afterwards?

The syrup looks delicious and I like the look of the can. I read the article and it states that the can has not changes since 1885. That is very unusual for today. The syrup does have nice color.

He has the sweet tooth, but it sounds like it would be great on hotcakes. Love the can too. I'm surprised they haven't changed to the typical plastic bottles. The cans have more character, plus more use.

@digitalrn Hi, yes, the syrup is available in the ubiquitous plastic bottle and that is handy for Shrove Tuesday - a lot less messy and you don't get bits in the tin .... but I certainly prefer the tins and love the ancient history with it.

@cirasj The syrup really is lovely - very distinctive. Just as you'd be hard pushed to describe Maple Syrup I think this is same problem ... sweet, buttery, smooth....doesn't even begin to give a flavour!!

@harfenfee Ah, had forgotten about that .... and now he's had fish and chips! What an unhealthy diet for a skunk!

I love the look of the packaging on your products! When something's been around for such a long time, it's nice to see a vintage label! From the look of things around your kitchen, it would seem Frank has a sweet tooth and won't go home hungry!

Frank and I would get along purrrrfectly! I love sweets too! I have plenty to share to him if he wants to come visit me. hehehe!

I'm really enjoying the travels of Frank. He reminds me of a little guy I had when I was a kid, his name was Shamrock. We were on vacation when I adopted him and we were staying at the Shamrock Motel. Thanks for bringing back the memory.

Looks like Frank may have to do some extra walking to tone up after his visit - he's been checking out all the goodies! Oh well, it's his vacation, right?

What a pretty can. I'm not sure I could handle the syrup. Frank must have a cast iron stomach!
