My hats off to you, Ellen. I have never been able to capture a squirrle's nest. As wondeful as this shot is with momma hovering above her brood, I wonder if it might be better if you just cropped everything out and centered on the babies. Anyway, this is a FAV from me. Bravo!
@cromwell I struggled with the cropping tonight Cromwell..I didnt know if i should leave MaMa or Dad out or not!! I was not too pleased with the focus so i left them all in!!
@cromwell Actually they were Quite a bit up high in the tree and i was sitting on the ground for more stability ! No Tripod ..I am going to go get one tomorrow!
@jaimeratchford Jaime this was my first time too! It was so exciting to get this capture! I wasn't even going to go for the squirrel alone unless it was doing flips or something unusual!! LOL!

@nanalisarocks Lisa i would have to say at least 30 ft up..but i can get my husband to give me a better idea tomorrow eve...There whole was in a bend of a very old ,large, oak tree that tower's over our RV ..I had no idea they were even up there untill tonight when i saw The Mama's or PaPa's big tail wagging and it made the leaves rustle...Thank you so much for the fav! I was so excited to get this shot tonight..I have to believe that my prayer is helping!! :)
@vickisfotos Vicki i was Soooooooooooo Excited!! That is one reason i had to sit down on the ground ...So i could get it in Focus and even then without the Tripod and the focal length was at the very end for this lens..i still was not able to hold the camera steady enough to get a spot on clear focus! But i still love it!!Thank you so much for your comment and Fav! I worked hard today on a totally different shot and this was the last shot of the evening! That always seems to happen to me ..I work all day to get a good shot and then when i least expect it something like this comes along....My prayer answered! :)
I'm not a fan of squirrels, it took us a year to catch one that was living in the walls of my daughters house! But this is adorable, great catch Ellen.
