Eagle Barber Shop-When Old and New Meet...

First of all i have to apoligize for complaining yesterday about my water and electrical problems. I thought about it and really felt ashamed. There really are people in this world that live each day without either of them and i am truly blessed!

Second of all...i went to visit my Best Friend that just moved about 45 miles south of me to a Little "Old" town called Eagle Lake, here in T.X.
She bought an old home like 1920's and is remodeling it all herself (with her husbands help of course, as he is a carpenter!! ) she lives in walking distance to the town square. This old town had buildings well dated back into the 1800's and it looks like an old Western Movie! ..I took this shot through the Old Eagle Barber Shop's Window..I felt it really captured the Old Vintage feeling of the town and the New growth in this small City! Welcome to Eagle Lake Sally! I love and Miss you! :)

Thirdly, I just cant thank you all enough..the days go by and some are good and some are not so good, but i can always rely on all of your sweet comments, views and fav's to make me smile! :)
Awesome shot

Fantastic shot. Love the expression on their faces.

Great shot; it has a wonderful vintage feel. Did they pose for you like that? How lucky if they did. It's a wonderful capture with the red cape and the blue shirt, the young boy and the older man.

@anazad511 @girlie I think the look on thier faces was a bit of surprise verses a questioning though as to " Why is that women taking our picture" ..i did not ask permission and actually was shooting the sign in the other window when i saw them inside! Thank you both for your great comments! :)

Who is Steve? I get the feeling he is your hubby?

My wife and I would love for you guys to come and stay.

i know what you are saying with photos... :)

Today I was soooooooooooo far from motivated that I I started creating tutorials videos instead of taking photos.

Don't worry about it... Call it writers block... Go here and just sit back and watch.

March FFS..... That was soooooooooo last year....

Italy is soooo cheap and nice, why would you want to go there when you can come here where the cost of living is expensive....

Oh other than that this country rocks....

I almost forgot about the picture I was so engrossed in your conversation with @agima !! I think this is a fabulous shot representing old and new, framed nicely and reflecting even more of the town in the window! Awesome capture of the people who seem to know you are taking the picture! Well done! You have to have the lows anyway to appreciate the highs, girlfriend!

Great capture, Ellen. Barbershops are just something we don't see much anymore, so even that has a vintage feel to it for me ; ) Love the framing.

I think it's a great picture! I love how you framed the barber and his client! Not sure if they posed for you or if you were just 'busted' while taking the shot....either way it's totally well done! And if you were in a funk while taking this, well......!

Oh sometimes you just need to vent a little and it helps to get you to realize what you do have rather than what you don't- sort of a self-adjusting attitude adjuster! Great shot- so fun to see the old/new still can coexist in small town America. Seems that most of the time, it's out with the old and in with the new and somewhere in that process we lose sight of who we are! Great composition too!

Oregon is lots closer than Australia. I'd love you to visit and go shooting together...though it might well be rainy and gray. I was thinking re your criticizing yourself for complaining...I experience you as amazingly positive and appreciative of what you have and of the world around you. For all of us losing our dads and having our husband in another state would be a big stretch.
And I like your capture of this timeless shot

Ellen this is a great picture. You may be tired of your surroundings and not love your photos. But I really, truly think your photos are fabulous.

I really like the framing and this shot, Ellen. I was reading above and happy that your hubby will be with you in Texas in March and then you can plan a trip eventually. Went to the park today and took so many photos but nothing looks good to me. Well maybe a couple of them. Looked at what I have to post for the last six days and I did not take photos on most of those days and behind again. Uninspired, yes and cold but not freezing like many are. By the way, did you have to subscribe to Smilebox? I have to work with it soon. Should not feel like a job should feel like fun. What is up with me. I am bored with being home and want to see other things.
