13th February 2014

It's a lovely sunny day but flooding is still widespread.

This is a view across the Thames from East Molesey looking towards the Hampton Court bridge and the Mitre pub. Houses along Riverside are all being pumped out as the Thames flooded into their basements. The pub across the river has been flooded for almost a month now - I posted two news articles about the flooding.

So destructive but so beautiful, Emma--I have to fav it anyway. The bridge in the distance is especially lovely. Is there more rain in the forecast? I hope not, so that the drying process can begin. And I hope that your and Colin's and Milford's home is being spared.

@tristansmum We are literally in the middle of a massive gale - the windows are making strange noises like a kazoo! Rain all day today but there could be change for the better next week - fingers crossed. Nobody has ever seen such bad floods and rain here. The south coast is being battered, Mum is OK but keeps losing electricity, here are a couple of short videos posted online of the prom a couple of minutes walk from her house. Colin and I are OK - Milford is celebrating Valentine's day by eating 6-chocolate drop and some lettuce!!

@emmadurnford Just watched these videos, Emma. They are amazing and rather terrifying. Stay safe, all of you!
