14th May 2014

This is Teddington Station which is over 150-years old and is now a listed building. I was here this morning waiting to catch a train to go and have lunch with my friend. I was also going to collect my official Press Pass for my visit to the Chelsea Garden Flower show next Monday.

For the second year running I am lucky enough to have been asked by the charity ‘First Touch, to be their official photographer for the day. This means I get to visit the show on the day it is closed to the public, the day that the judging takes place and most importantly the day that the celebrities visit. This is important as we try and get as many as possible to visit the garden (and I photograph them) which is great publicity for such a small charity.

Another impressive fact is that the garden has been created almost entirely for free with my friend Patrick Collins (5-times gold medal winner at chelsea) designing the garden and a lot of kind people assisting in building it. The plants and equipment have either been donated or lent so there is virtually no cost to the charity but it gains a mass of publicity.

Here is a montage from the 20th of May last year when a host of ‘celeb’s popped by to visit.

I’m really excited!!
I love old railway stations in England and you've captured this one beautifully. Congrats on photographing for the charity again! Perhaps Peter Firth will turn up. I'm sure the garden for the group your doing this for will be lovely. It must be so wonderful simply to attend this world famous flower show.
