This is my favourite flower - a Cornflower. I like them so much that I had them in my wedding bouquet and in the floral arrangements on the day. As we got married in April they were silk ones but very accurate and lifelike.

This stunning flower is one of literally thousands in a wildflower meadow planted in St Mary's College in Twickenham. I photographed this field last month when it was mainly filled with red poppies and daisies ( http://365project.org/emmadurnford/2014-365-projec/2014-06-08).

Now it is a sea of blue… and surprisingly pink, white and purple. I always thought that cornflowers were only blue. In just a few minutes I realised I had taken nearly 80 photographs… here's a very small selection of them if you are on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.768237823228901.1073741933.186301661422523&type=1

Exquisite Emma, instant fav for me. I used to grow cornflowers in my parents' garden while Is till lived at home, and I remember that they do come in many shades of blue, pink and purple as well as white. They are really easy to grow from seed.
