28th August 2014

I was picking the last few blackberries this morning when I noticed something strange on the berries. In true '365er' fashion I dashed off to get my macros lens and managed to relocate this - a green female Crab Spider.

These spiders do not weave webs but change their colour to blend into their surroundings to enable them to catch flies and small insects. Their front 4-legs are longer and shaped like crab claws and they move sideways.
Fabulous capture,

Lovely close up. Slightly off putting! Lots of blackberries around.

Wonderful dof and colour, have to fav this even though the spider does give me the willies a bit.
