28th November 2014

This is one of the Presidential Guards at Prague castle during the 12.00pm changing of the guard. I managed to get myself right to the front of the crowds for some photos - a little too close as I was literally about 2 feet away from this officer.

He has a very impressive uniform with a thick fur collar which I assumed dates back in style many years. How wrong could I be? The uniforms were all designed by the costume designer who worked on the outfits in the film Amadeus and the band were playing military music… written by a Czech rock star a few years ago!

Tradition does not seem to play a big part in this ceremony.

(Some more photos of the ceremony - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.845400448845971.1073741965.186301661422523&type=1 )
Good close up. Like the coat.

Impressive uniform except for the fur collar, which totally don't approve of.
