1st July 2015

This is an egg laid by one of five free range chickens owned by the head green-keeper at Colin’s golf course. We went to visit them on open day yesterday evening and he presented me with this egg which had only been laid a few hours earlier. I fried it today and it was so fresh that the yolk stood right up and was a lovely pale yellow color. The egg is actually almost a pale green so I wonder if the grass clippings he had put in has affected the colour? It was delicious.
Beautiful white on white shot; I'm so glad the chickens are free range and not subjected to the dreadful torture of factory farming.
