17th July 2015

Our last full day in Portugal and we drove for miles (or rather kilometres). Although it was cloudy at times, the temperature was still a scorching +35 degrees so the air conditioning in the car was so good.

These decorations were in the process of being taken down by the local Bombeiros (fire service) which each town has, normally made up of volunteers. Nearly every village and town has a fiesta at some time during the year and Vila Flor had just celebrated a fiesta a couple of days ago. These decorations are made out of blue and white paper bunting and covered the town hanging on buildings, trees and lamp posts.
Same temperatures in south of France, I'm used to that but I'm starting to find it a little bit too much!

It must have been quite a sight to see these streamers all over the town. Lovely pov in this capture.
