4th June 2016

Today we had a trip down into Sussex to West Dean Gardens. Hester has a stall of her prints at the annual art fair here and we wanted to show support. We have never been here before and I’ll be honest, I hadn’t actually even heard of it before.

It was a stunning place. The house is a traditional Sussex flint building and the grounds are set within rolling English countryside. The gardens are my favorite sort - formal water gardens interspersed with small wildflower meadows in-between. It was difficult to choose an image for today but I love forget-me-nots so they won over the others! Unfortunately it was a bit grey for the start of the day so the images are rather flat. Even more reason to revisit in better weather.

Hester’s stall looked really good as well and it turned out to be a profitable weekend for her, especially good news as she had driven all the way down from North Yorkshire to take part in the art fair.

Here are some more images from the day - https://www.facebook.com/Emma-Durnford-LRPS-Photographer-186301661422523/photos/?tab=album&album_id=1146870895365590
