Another somewhat rare visitor to our garden this afternoon after the newt a few days ago. This time a female Stag Beetle. We were so pleased to find it and I’m relieved I spotted her and was able to move her to safety on our log pile. She has some mud on her head so I am not sure if she has just emerged from a pupae or whether she has been looking for somewhere to lay her eggs. Fingers crossed she lays eggs in our garden. It’s definitely becoming a bit of a wildlife sanctuary.
