2nd December 2017

We had a tip off from Colin's friend John that one of the Belmond British Pullmans - No. 60163 the 'Tornado' to be precise - would be passing through Twickenham station today (from London Victoria). Twickenham station itself has been demolished and is being totally rebuilt so I was a tad worried if we'd be able to get into see it but there was no problem despite none of the station staff knowing anything about it!

In the event it steamed past platform 5 and I even got a wave from the driver! The train features in the new 'Paddington 2' film and today it was travelling on a 'Paddington Afternoon Tea Journeys' to celebrate.

It was a bit of a challenge to avoid the platform 'furniture' but we've worked out a better position to stand for the next steam visit that passes through Twickenham!

Afterwards we walked back to the Church Street 'Festival of Lights' which was quite nice but no presents bought and I desperately need to crack on with that!
Always nice to see a bit of steam.
