Unfortunately our washing machine gave up the ghost last week (rather noisily - think the bearings went) and we have had to buy another one. I suppose we have been lucky as it has lasted for sixteen years and has been playing up for over a year but I have managed to keep it going by fiddling around with the settings each time I use it.
As usual John Lewis delivery and fitting was on time and efficient. They took the old machine away and fitted our new one, giving it a quick trial run. It is very difficult to get excited about this but it looks a lot more modern than our old one and is considerably quieter as well.
