25th May 2018

Our last morning in Spain and this is the view which I took on our arrival when we were waiting in Santander for our luggage to arrive and had to kill 5.5 hours!. The beach in Santander - El Sardinero - is really impressive and this morning there was a surf school and a number of locals going for a dip. It was a bit over cast again but not nearly as stormy as when we arrived on the 30th of April.

Our B&B for the night was very comfortable and after a brief stroll we headed back to Santander airport to return the car.

We enjoyed the same stresses of our outbound journey in that the flight was delayed, the connecting flight was in the satellite terminal 4 which involved a ride on a monorail and after running to get there, the second flight was also delayed so we need not have bothered rushing. To top it all off, there was no queuing system so I was stressing about getting my hand luggage on the plane. This time our luggage did make it back which means I have a lot of washing to do over the next two days!

Final milage (or 'kilometerage') is 2,946kms = 1,831 miles

(Footsteps today 5,844)

Total footsteps over the past 3.5 weeks = 274,173 an average of 10,545 a day which is pretty impressive as we were driving long distances on a number of days and a lot of the hiking in the Picos was rather extreme walking!!
