Happy Fathers' Day, I'm going to get some Maltesers to eat in memory of my Dad.
Today as I was getting ready I found this large beetle walking on the carpet in the spare bedroom. I think she must have flown in through the window yesterday. I thought she was a stag beetle but was way too small and on Googling I discovered that she is indeed a Lesser Stag Beetle. I caught her in a glass and she is now living our purpose built log pile 'insect hotel'.
Later in the day we headed over to Chris and Mouse's house for a Fathers' Day BBQ - very nice and my cake went down well!
