11th October 2018

This week is an unusual week. On Tuesday we were having a great time with our friends celebrating his 70th birthday but today we were at our neighbour and friends funeral.

It was a beautifully sunny but windy day at the Hanworth Crematorium. It was lovely that so many neighbours from the Crescent came and in the end there were so many mourners that most of us had to stand up for the ceremony. It was a very personal service and I felt for her son and daughter who both bravely made great speeches. Rest in Peace Peter Hogben.

Afterwards we all went to the Adelaide pub in Teddington for the wake and some very nice sandwiches. It was sad as normally the occasions that all the neighbours get together are parties in the Crescent but this was a much more sombre occasion.
